This isn't intended to slur Backbone or anyone else. Every year at this time I usually take care of 100+ heifers. Calving is due to start on Dec 15. About 10% of the heifers with pinched heart girth have already slipped calves. I guarantee you another 15% will DEFINITELY need a pull. The heifers with a smooth transition from rib to shoulder will usually calve with no problems.

As for the mode of inheritance...then we have to get specific about pedigrees in Black Angus and that will insult somebody. But it is dominant in the select sires bulls with the pinched heart girth.
