Have a 5 acre area that was clearcut a couple of years ago. I was going to put some goats on it, but there is a very wet bottom on part of it so I was thinkin of puttin a few pigs on it for sausage later. The question is, will the hogs hurt the goats? I am planning on using domestic hogs.

The pigs need to be in their own fenced area, not in direct contact with the goats, I have had pigs kill chickens, a cat a fox and two lambs, putting pigs in a wet area will result in them rooting and compacting the soil, causing it to become more waterlogged, if you do keep them on a wet area, ensure their huts or other accomodation is on a dry spot. We work on a stocking rate of 10 adult pigs per acre on well drained soils, halve this rate for clays or waterlogged areas.

Dusty,

No! They will get along just fine,
And you selected the perfect pair to do the job.
The goats will eat the foliage and the pigs will take care of the roots.

Make sure your fences are good - our pigs could find the smallest weak area and get out. Also the rooting may be destructive they could dig out if they wanted.
