I am interested in pursuing cattle as an investment and ultimately building a herd after I am done earning at my job. I understand economics so investment may be a bit of a stretch. We have a farm enterprise and my wife and I travel extensively for work so enjoy the tax advantage. Is it feasible to start small with custom grazing? For example buying 20 head or so and placing them. Maybe that number is not realistic, the one person I spoke with required minimum of 50 head. I am really trying to learn the business but am not in one place long enough to do it myself. How would I go about locating such an arrangement? Any tips appreciated. We don't finance anything so would be paying cash. We have appropriate reserves etc. Thanks in advance for any ideas!

There is custom grazing listed on ranch world ads. If you are interested in stockers, you could find a custom grow yard to send them to. You wouldn't have to do much except buy and sell the calves and pay the yard.

Sounds like a good start, I will look into that. Any input is welcome. Thanks!
