I wouldn't trade my '06 Dodge 3500 4x4 for anything. On a recent 3200 mile trip to Utah I got over 19mpg (hand calculated).
I've had a lot of dodges and still do, I don't know that I've ever achieved the 19 or 20 MPG level unless on an occasional trip on roads where I couldn't go very fast and there weren't many hills. Maybe I drive too fast. Mine usually fall into the 16.5 to 17.5 MPG range if I'm not pulling anything. The hemi will get about 15to 16. A strange thing that does happen though is that my offices are in Houston and our ranch is in NW Louisiana. I will almost always get 1 mpg more going from the ranch back to Houston that driving home from Houston to Stonewall. Bought the wife a diesel jeep last year and it will get 30 to 32 mpg. Lot less vehicle I know but that's still pretty impressive.

Cruise control set at 65 mph helps, just idling along almost.

On my Cummins it seems like 1800 RPMs is the sweet spot for mileage (18-20 mpg) which is 68-70 mph with 3.73 gears. Running 75-80 mph, gets 15-17 mpg.

Those MPGs sound good to me. I never got more than 14mpg out of a Cummins. Owned a '00, '01, '04, '07, and a '12. Not in that order but still never got the 18-20 mpg. The powerstroke we just sold got 14 mpg but the new one gets 20 mpg. Finally got there I guess.

I have gotten 21mpg with our 2018 Duramax, that was before the delete and empty. Last month when I was driving down to Illinois I got 12 pulling our 20' dovetail trailer with tandem duels. I don't remember what I got loaded going back; I was also pushing a pretty good wind going home. I think it dropped it down to about 9mpg going home. I have not driven without pulling anything to see if deleting the DEF system increased the mpg.
