Milo hay

Looking at maybe buying some milo rounds. It was cut when it was green and leafy and it did not head out. Is this likely to b high or low in nitrates? I know a test will tell for sure but was just wanting to get some ideas while I wait.

Could be high in nitrates. Better get it tested.

depends on a couple of different factors
how much N was applied?
was it drought stressed ?
was frosted on right before it was cut?

Grain Sorgum is also called Milo. It's cut for grain then baled for hay. This year we also fert. and cut it a second time.

As long as it has been irragated it is ok to feed because the nitrate levels aren't as high. We have been feeding it for years.
