That horse is not as big as many Shires - or the rider is a giant.

Shires - Ridden by knights of old.

Pulled many a cart full of ale to the inn.

Some day when I can scrape some cash together I am going to own a team of Shires.

Great for pulling dead moose out of the bush for this hunter.

And they are a good ride as well. Not many cows will pull a Shire off it's feet.

To put it in prospective the horse (Emmet Dalton) is pushing 16.2. Yea Mike is derned near full growed. 6'8... and just shy of 300#. I'll see if I can find and post some pics of him riding Willie Nelson.Z

My hubby rides a Percheron / Paint cross about 16.1 h and must go 1500+, can drag anything you can dally to and pack anything you're man enough to throw on him! He loves him - that draft disposition you just can't beat it - he'll go anywhere you point him, and has surprising stamina for such a big guy. I'll have to show this to him so he doesnt' feel like such and "odd man out"! Get you two together and you could joust!
