Spent this week teaching a fire class in McHenry, Maryland. Beautiful little town. Lake in the middle of the town and Ski slopes above the lake. Was 42 there yesterday morning.
Anyone been there or live near there? I liked it.

Family migrated in the 1600’s to Wolf Den Maryland from Scotland. The original family farm site is still there.
I keep saying I am going before I die hadn’t made it yet.

Never been as a matter of fact have never been in Maryland. I need to get out more. On a map it looks like next to Pennsylvania or a long ways from here. Have a safe trip home as coming down 81 in some of that area is pretty rough.

I thought you knew me KT? I reckon I’ll be alright.

And you know that neither Grit not myself will be anywhere but an airplane without one.

Seriously? That’s the one place I’d feel the need for one.
Well the fact that I get searched when I fly kinda keeps me from carrying there

8 1/2 hours from here because I had to meet a couple of other guys and travel up together.

You will be alright until you are not.
Then it's too late. :help:
But I'm sure you are sure your luck will hold.

Let me make this perfectly clear Ryder. I am all for any qualified adult carrying a concealed (or open) weapon if they should feel the need to do so.

I just don’t feel the need.

Because theres nothing like letting others be responsible for the safety of yourself and your family. When seconds count, 911 is only minutes away. I have never understood the mentality. Most everyone here in the plains always has a sidearm within easy reach.

Yes sir, it’s a free country, I respect your rights and only ask the same.

We just see things from different perspectives. :tiphat:

Not entirely, if I found myself in consistently dangerous situations I’d probably carry. As it is I am infrequently in parts of town where a sidearm might be useful.

I have multiple firearms in my home and at the farm in strategic locations. I honestly don’t expect to need them but they are there if I do.

If I may, let me ask you this. Do you take your family out to eat at restaurants? Do you go to shopping malls? Maybe even just drive down the road? Go to church? Work in an office? All have been proven to be targets the last few years.
I personally dont trust the general public that much, or feel like waiting for the police while being shot at
