Cattle market at Green Forest Ar yesterday showed some interesting conflicts. It is really dry there, so the local cow buyers have stopped buying. Cow-calf pairs are down an avg of 300 per pair from 3-4 weeks ago. Slaughter cows and bulls are still pretty strong and feeder calves were 8-10 dollars per hundred higher than 2 weeks ago, probably because of the positive futures on the BSE news. They had right at 400 cows and cow calf pairs and that is an unusually high amount for this time of year. There were 3 whole herd sellouts. Alot of people selling because they are out of pasture. They had a little over a thousand feeder calves, which is pretty normal for this time of year
