Started the 6th here. Got to take the two older girls on Sunday. I picked up a gobble call last year- I don't even know why. But I decided it would be a good time to try it out. We sat down and called about 15 minutes and then used that gobble call a little with the hen clucks. Called a hen and three toms in. Seems like when there is a hen around, they are hold to pull of her most of the time. The hen crossed over the creek maybe 65 yards out, but the toms came right on into us.
Monday I saw a couple of toms with 3 hens while I was out and about. Figured I would see what they would do with it. The toms were trailing them a bit, but they turned and came right back into where I was. I was going to try to video them on my phone, but all I got was cedar limbs.
