Limousin Jr. National Show

I'm fairly close to Lexington, I don't know where it is being held over there. A lot of times larger breed shows are held in Louisville, at their fairgrounds. I have a red Limousin bull, but just on commercial cows, so I don't keep up with breed events.

I think Ron should go and take a look at some nice Limo cattle :)

This is my second year managing Fire Sweep's Ranch while they are at the Junior Simmental Nationals in Iowa. I am only 50 minutes to the Lexington City Limits. Might go if I was home.

Freighttrain, why is using Angus to improve the Limousin breed a bad thing? I assume the Limousin Breed Association sanctioned the effort. It is a credit to the Limousin Association that they acknowledged that Limousin cattle are inferior and that the introduction of Angus genetics would improve the breed. I hope they consider introducing some Simmental genetics. The superiority of Simmental cattle is known throughout the Universe. An astronomer friend of mine said the inhabitants of The Planet Simmentalus worship the breed.

Question is did wrapping the package in a black really improve it or just camo it enough so people think it did. I have a cousin that's bred simmi's for over 30 years. I still haul bulls to his neighbors on a pretty regular time frame. Most of the time I stop for a short visit when I do. Just to make sure he doesn't think I am just dragging a empty trailer around. I don't need angus to improve mine, angus need mine to improve there's.

Just think about the quantity and quality you'd have if all of your animals were black.

Prove the Quality of your cattle TGF. What makes them quality a bunch of people that have never seen there calves carcass on the rail. Plenty of black limousin. Has been since the start. We started with semen used on what ever cows that were available. Surely you don't think simmis started out black do you? There is a pretty good reason you don't see many simmis around here. Not that many angus either.

I guess that's why the Simmental Association introduced Angus genetics in their breed.. :tiphat:

But what you fail to realize though....is that mixing Simmental and Angus was at the request of the AAA. Something to do with the market demanding that AAA's CAB deliver something other than a black hide!

And they wound up with no butt and huge feed bill.

Met a guy out here in Missouri, can't give his name because I'm afraid of a slander charge. Ask if I knew you. I said yea, the guy who makes snide remarks on CT and always posts positive comments on everyone's cattle. He said he worked for your neighbor. He said don't believe anything that guy says. He said you keep a red Angus bull hidden in the barn to breed your cows to because your Limousin bull throws dinks.
