We had a really bad storm last Thursday night lots of lighting, which I hate we lost a super nice heifer just a couple of years ago to a lighting strike. I guess it could have been worse but of course it was one of the best heifers in the pen. When Ronnie got to the farm on Friday morning the charger was blown up so he knew we had been hit. He checked all the cattle all good so big sigh of relief. Today he was out checking some of the fence lines and here is what he found.
The first picture shows a pine tree that was hit, we figure the lighting hit the tree the trench is where it traveled over to the fence.
This is where it hit the fence there use to be a post at this location.
It then traveled to another post
and then another needless to say it had to be a very powerful hit. No wonder the charger was blown to heck and back.
