Kidney infection or failure in bred cow

I have a cow with either kidney infection or begining <br>of failure. The vet said my chances of her having <br>her calf and saving the cow is slim. She seems to <br>have responded to penicillin. Has improved some and is <br>now eating fair to poor. She is 9 or 10 and has a twin. <br>Never any other health problems till now. She is about a month away from calving. Any information<br>or idea would be helpful. B
