Keurig's......

Everyone I know that has or did have one was enthralled with them for about a month, then they ended up in the back of the cabinet. Waiting for the 1st cup to come out of the traditional 12 cup coffemaker in the morning is one thing--waiting for every single cup you drink is a pain in the butt and gets old fast.

There's not a coffee drinker in our house, but the grandparent have one and think it's swell. They buy the donut shoppe cups by the case. Thing is it's about 1$ a cup where they buy it, that's high isn't it?

My coffee maker bit the dust a few months ago.
I looked everywhere for the kind that I wanted, a Bunn with thermal carafe. Had been using these for years. Made a full pot of coffee in about 3 minutes. Couldn't find one anywhere in town. Had to get a coffeepot that day, so I bought an inexpensive 1 cup at a time thingy.
Figured if we hated it I could try and find the Bunn online and we could at least make coffee 'til it arrived. Instant coffee is fine for cooking, but boy is it nasty to drink.

We're still using it. I can only have one cup nowadays anyway, so not a big deal for me. It's kinda nice to have a cup of hazelnut every now and then. Never would make it before because it makes hubby want to throw up. He makes his second cup as soon as the first is done, so he's gotten used to it as well. I did draw the line at buying those single serve little coffee packet things, though. This one has a steel filter cup so I can use regular ground coffee. Don't know if the Keurig has that or not.

Got a plain ole Mr coffee with a timer. I prefer to grind my beans but it got 2 expensive.
Set it at night and coffee is waiting when you get up.

I have one myself, and the Donut Shop Medium Roast Extra Bold is the way to go. But, most of the time I mix Folgers 100% Colombian and Black Silk together in the cups. Those pre made deals are expensive.

must admit... we do have a Keurigs in the house. The wife loves it! Call me old school but I still prefer to get up in the morning and prepare my coffee in the old electric percolator. IMHO, you just can't beat the taste! As far as coffee goes, I prefer good old Folgers Breakfast Blend!

Yes it is Denver. If there is a Costco near you (maybe at Sam's too) then you can buy that brand by the case and get the cost down to .40 cents a cup.

I will sometimes grind some course and boil it in a camp pot. Just pour a cup of cold water in the pot and it will settle the grounds. When you pour a cup.

I don't know if sams has it, my grandpa is in there 3 days a week and hasn't got any there that I know of. He's buying it at lowes I think they said.

Had a keurig and hated it. Didn't have the patience for tht. Our timer type coffee maker lasted us a few years and bit the dust a month ago. Now we have a electric percolator. The flavor is better and I like it. Seems we're going backwards in time on our coffee makers

Better yet, get one of these puppies and make your own K-cups: http://www.target.com/p/solofill-single ... OgodfGkAVg

There are several different brands but they all work with keuring. You can buy good quality coffee (or swill) and fill the reusable cups yourself.

I like spending the 25 seconds for each cup of coffee. In the AM, its caffeinated.. in the evening its decaf. Only time I am at home long enough for a pot is late evening.

I'm not going to buy a coffee maker that requires me to spend a buck a cup, and brew it myself, and wait for it... I had a standard Mr Coffee with a timer, that thing was my best friend, along with my 56oz coffee cup.. lasted me all day, I didn't mind cold coffee with lunch... True to where I live, it's Tim Hortons for me :)

A lot of those Keurig machines are built by Midsouth electronics in Gadsden AL. I've had to go down there and make software changes many times where the pots are tested. BEST SMELLING ASSEMBLY LINE EVER!

The wife decided the K cups were to expensive so she bought four of those reusable ones. They are a PIA! Would rather make a whole pot than have to dump, clean and refill the individuals.

We bought our BUNN coffer maker online, their two year warranty is great, ours lasted 23 months and quit, we contacted BUNN and received a new BUNN including free shipping, we are now on BUNN #3.
