Since the arrival of the fire ant in my neck of the woods it seems that the tick problem is not as prevalent as it was before their arrival. In times past there would be ticks hanging every where on the cattle and dogs.

Tick is a rare thing in this neck of the woods as are quail.
I can send those folks a 5 gallon bucket of fire ants for a small shipping and handling fee.

Repairing fence yesterday and I found 3 ticks on me and one on my son. My sister suffers from Lyme Disease from a tick bite. I hate ticks!
I ended up with STARI disease from a lone star tick, which is similar to Lyme. Treated with doxycycline and the pain can be managed with Vicodin & Tylenol 800. Wouldn't wish that on anyone! And precisely why I now am diligent about spraying with Deet 40.

I accidentally wormed myself yesterday with a dose for an 1100 pound steer. I am suspecting no chiggers, no mosquito bites, and no ticks for a month or so.

Been years since we've had ticks on man or beast. As a kid it was nightly ritual to be stood up on the coffee table striped butt naked and inspected for ticks.
Fire ants have got my clothes off a few times, but not like ticks. I'll take the ant's.

My oldest suffered from lymes as well.
