I really don't know how far from a tower I am; sorry. I do know the VZ coverage map showed our place in a good coverage area. About $60 a month, and like you said, John, it's worth it. Here's a link.

I have Sierra wireless that is the same it just plugs into your usb port too. I love it ,I can work anywhere in my house and high speed is a dream. I also love it when we have to take a long trip , I just grab my lap top and I can work on line while sitting in a vehicle. I pay 35 dollars a month and have never gone over my allotted space yet.
