I was talking 2 my dealer this afternoon while I was trying to bale some very light burnt up windrows for my neighbor whose baler broke down. I could not get good looking bales and he told me to take the crop holder downer thingys (do not laugh this is a qoute) off and it would let the hay feed better. I was skeptical but I tried it and it worked. Took a minute to take it off and a minute to put it back on. I will do this if I ever find myself in that situation again. Just thought I would share this info.

Did the dealer say what the compression rack is even on there for? Because I can't use the one on my JD baler either. When baling dry slick hay types Prarie hay, Bermuda Grass it does help to remove it. Mine seemed to want to plug all the time with it on there so I took it off and left it off.
Where are you in Osage County? I'm over by Ponca City. Not much hay being baled in my area except for the soybeans that didn't make for lack of rain.
