We talked to our vet about a 20 month old heifer he said she has BVD but we don't think so. { he didn't come out said we could do the same thing he would} She is not grazing and laying alot, she is passing almost pure water with blood in it. But she has no fever, or runny nose
He said to worm her with safeguard 3 days in a row and give her substain 3 Bolus pills 3 per day. What else could she have? And what should we do. We have her isolated from the other cows and moved them to a different field, they all seem fine.

Sounds more like lepto.

We've had a few calves come down with coccidiosis this spring. The most effective treatment we've found is to use Amprol and mineral oil orally in equal amounts. Not sure about an animal the age you're describing, but for our calves (100 - 250 lbs) we use doses of 60cc of each. Just fill a big syringe with the Amprol, open the mouth and squirt down the hatch. Same goes with the mineral oil.

For what it's worth, it's the only thing we've found that actually seems to help cure it.

Best of luck and take care.
