I don't know where to post this but this is the forum that gets the most action so I chose this one. I know there are some international posters here so here's my question. My wife and I are going to Ireland for a second honeymoon (30 years). I E-mailed the Irish Hereford association and they sent me their yearbook with several farms listed that welcome visitors. But the addresses are a bit confusing to me. For example one address is Gageboro, Moate, Co. Westmeath. Now I can locate that county and Moate but what is Gageboro? Is that a small town near Moate? We are renting a car and are planning our stays at Bed and Breakfasts so we need a rough itinary. Thanks if anyone can help me. Farmguy

Gageboro is just a townland. listed before the city or town you will have either a street or townland. townland is just a small geographical unit, smaller than a county.

I Go to Ireland Ever Summer for my Hole Life ive never heard of that town because its in the south dont go down there much. Co. westmeath is the County gageboro and moate should be both towns. Have fun over there Big change from here Feildd are bout 10 acres with 20-50 cows in them :D Couldnt tell you where any Hereford beeders are not many around any more.

I got to a Town Called Buncrana its about 30 Mile from the most northly Part of Ireland ''Maling Head'' you will see it look on the map.

redangus121orwhatever, that is the worst writing I have ever seen. And I have seen a lot. Good grief, who pays for your indescribably know nothing monkey-butt to go to Ireland? What did you do? Win the mega lottery?

hmmm no nothing Monkey Butt? Nice one im still laughing at that one now what is this 2nd Grade?

I go there ever year because my Hole Family lives there and no i didnt win a mega lottery im 16 years old i go there with my Family to work on my Grandpas farm hows that?

A little friendly advice, so take it for what it's worth. If I were you I'd restrain myself from using the phrase "Hole Family" too much. Makes people wonder, even though they may understand what you're trying to say. ;-)

Although it didn;t sound Irish, I kind of thought his family name was "Hole". Although MacHole would have made me positive it was.
