Help Support CattleToday:

I'm not for COOL. I'm not for any additional government regulation or new taxes for that matter. What would really help cattlemen is deregulation. Get the federal government out of local meat processing and let's give the states the authority to set the standards of in state butchering and sales of beef and lets go back to the way it used to be before the federal government got involved and "helped us" and put all the small butchers and processors out of business..

I agree and I am NOT for COOL... :cboy:

A COOL label wouldn't do anything for the fast food industry.
The burger, taco's type places aren't going to label their food for you.

They are probably the biggest buyers of imported meat

There's our beef checkoff dollars at work. Well duh if we didn't import meat from Canada and Mexico we'd need all of the US beef we can produce for our markets. What gives the WTO a say in anything we do, we're the greatest spenders - consumers in the world. And we should use that to our advantage.
Colin is sure getting old, must be all that Kool Aid he's drinking.

Why would you want the federal government involved in something else? I think they have already harmed the meat industry enough why would you want to give them more control?
