With the high fuel prices, I was just curious how it has affected people. Has your driving changed?
I live 4 miles from 2 towns (1200-1500 people in each)
 
I live 15 miles from any "real' town. A little lake side community about 4 miles away but all you can buy there is beer and bait. Seems like I'm at least 15 miles from everywhere sometimes but wouldn't have it any other way.

I think that's another regional thing. We have all square miles here. 1 mile = 1 minute.

I am not far enough out. Too many neighbors moved in.

To close to Fort Worth too because the commuters think they like being my neighbor. City folks who want to live in the country, but they don't understand the country ways.
 
I like the city folks that moved to Godley and complained that the animals smelled bad. Go home.

I live about two miles from town, ten miles from work and about 15 miles from my grocery store. I try to consolidate my trips to Cleburne and get everything done at the same time. I like Alvarado, but I hate the grocery stores here. Brookshires is too expensive and David's has the worst produce I have ever seen. I went in there once and they didn't have heads of lettuce. That isn't exactly exotica. The fruits and veggies are puny and dried up looking.

If I am careful and don't have too many trips, I can squeeze two weeks out of a tank.

7 miles to food and fuel. :)

32 miles to beer and harder spirits (this is a dry county). :( :drink:

40 miles to the vet I use. :cboy:

50 miles to a suitable, reliable hospital. :help:

64 miles to Dallas. :clap:
 
Well, there is a little town about 15 min to the southeast, a bigger one 15 min to the north, another little one 10 min southwest. Nearest big city is probably, oh gosh I don't know how many miles the darn thing keeps spreading but takes about 30 min what with traffic and all.
 
7 miles to a town of 125 people/cafe/small feedstore

25 miles to a town of 125,000

10 miles to a gas station

17 miles to McDonalds

19 miles to Wal-mart

20 miles to nearest sales barn and approximately 20 sales barns within 80 miles
 
2 miles to county road
3 miles to paved road
16 miles to town
Use to be 6 houses between here and town (about 10 yrs ago)
To many ranchetts to count today.
I'm feeling crowded :(
