Our local grocer just started stocking Nathan's. Heard so many good things about them I had to buy a package. They live up to every bit of the hype I've heard. Don't think I'll buy another brand from here on out unless someone can vouch for them.

I love hotdogs and I like Nathan's too. They do a good job. You pay more but in this situation I think you are getting what you pay for. I only know of one other hotdog that I think is better.

  Well .... um ..... yes. These are fine tuned to my taste plus they are just a hair bigger than Nathan's. Of course, in all fairness I'm sure you would eat Nathan's dogs 2 to 1 of mine cause mine are 1/3 lb each. :lol2:

Every time I go to Chicago I have to buy a Chicago style hot dog made with pure Vienna Beef. They are awesome! They come on a steamed poppy seed bun with mustard, relish, onion, cucumber, tomato and hot peppers on them and then sprinkled with celery salt. Then they are rolled up in wax paper with a double handful of fresh cut French fries :D

In New York a couple of months ago and we ate at a hot dog only restaurant. It's around NYU; I think it was called CriftDog or something like that. It was very good for a danged old hot dog.

In the next county over there is a bunch of German pig farmers, and a butcher plant that makes some real good funeral dogs.

I might have been tempted to try this product, but was in Wallyworld just today and noticed said person has come down with black hide fever. Another vendor that jumped on the CAB marketing bandwagon. I'll pass.

I prefer the 'reduced fat' version of the ones that "answer to a higher authority".

What's a funeral dog?
Hot dogs served at funerals, duh! :lol2:
It's a old German American tradition to serve hot dogs at funerals, and they are just homemade with natural casings still attached, like yours, but with different spices.

Never been much for hot dogs (weiners) but wife keeps them for when the grandkids come over. Looked last night to see what she had and it ws "Hebrew Kosher". I'm wondering if she's got a bit of Jew in her now. :lol2:

Them are some salty hot dogs--the kosher ones.
I do like hot dogs and can and have eaten a whole package by myself at one meal--many times. Don't much matter which kind as long as they are beef and as long as they haven't jumped on the Angus marketing bandwagon.
