It was raining of course and the calf was born outside in the mud. After she got her sea legs and tried to nurse we put her in a wheelbarrow and brought her into the turnout shed which had plenty of shavings , straw and hay in it. It was 46 degrees here today and it is supposed to be 60 tomorro, I hope. I was not able to take pictures today in the rain I will try and take them tomorrow. She seems to be doing fine. I put iodine on her naval twice already, but mom seems to lick it off. I will put more on tomorrow.
We did not milk the cow out today. Should we have?
When should we start milking her out?
I checked on them tonightand they were both sleeping. The little one was not shivering anymore. She seems to be content.
Mom has hay and water, no grain tonight.
Is there anything else I should do tonight or tomorrow?
:D :D

Did she nurse her mother? If she did, I wouldn't worry right now...
