Angie I have a friend who has been a First Responder for over 18 years and he has the same protocal I do concerning consent to treat.
If you have a state EMS department head I would give them a call and find out if that is true. Out here each county has it own different protocal concerning treatment but consent is the same all around out here.
Howdy glad to hear you are doing much better today. Maybe look for an Americian Heart Association training class. Those are the protocals we use.

I was always taught that any effort was better than none at all. I've had to do the Heimlich on a couple of folks and you are right, it seems to take forever to get results. I'm glad you were there to do something.
Things pop up sometimes that we never expect. My daughter when she was a baby was choking on a coin. I probably wouldn't have known what to do if my work didn't send me to a cpr class.
