Home Lightning System

Does anyone here have a home lightning system? Everyone around me has one and im the only one that doesn't. We get bad storms here alot and wondered if they are even worth getting it put on the house. Has anyone had one and home got struck by lightning ?

The system that if your home gets struck by lightning its wired to send the electicity in the ground i think im not sure I dont have one but I imagine thats what it does.

I have cows with detachable hooves. Sortof like a breaker switch only completely different.

Tall pine trees work good also.

I have lightning rods on my home and as far as the house it's never been hit. The problem I have is twice the lightning has hit transformers within 4 mi of me and the serge knocked out several things in my house.
