Secondly life is to short not to do something you enjoy IMO.
In the end all you have and leave are memories, everyone needs to make a few good memories to leave.

It was 75 here today so wife and I decided to just have fun today we rode 4 wheelers and motorcycle and she cost me extra money that I didn't plan on spending but oh well great day great fun great wife.

One of these days(you're in your twenties? mine hit at about thirty four but you take Sundays so that may prolong it some) you're going to melt and when you put yourself back together you'll see how hard you've been on yourself. :nod:
My breeding route goes seven days a week 365 a year and the farm never stops and the ranch is always there... I figured out a few years back that if all I do is think about that stuff then my ox NEVER gets out of the ditch. I learned to set hours and limits and schedule in play-time and even allow myself time to come on here when nothing pressing is happening... I get more done now than I did then and I'm happier than I was then and I'm amazed at how well a lot of stuff that used to make me crazy works itself out if I let it. ;-)

The hobby I'd most like to have time to get back into is ponding -- waterlilies, fish, fountains. Did that for about 6 yrs. in ID before I left and thoroughly enjoyed it. Even won some awards w/ my fish. I moved 6 ton of cut rock with me from ID to WA, along with four 700 gal. Rubbermaid water tanks w/ fish and plants (not all on the same trailer), all equipment and new liner. Looked like the daaam Clampetts going down the road! Have never set up the pond here; same tanks are in place. So, besides the cattle and 9 hr. days in the office, I mostly keep myself busy with gardening Spring-Fall; read lots during the Winter. We have an abundance of wildlife, but have done little shooting and even less hunting in recent years -- the older I get, the less important the desire to kill something.

Metal working. Never did it for a living. Went to welding school 36 years back. Fix a lot of items. Put a lot of old tools back into use. Built post hole diggers from pipe halves etc.

Built several cedars chests now that I am quite proud of. I am quite slow and too much of a perfectionist when it comes to wood. But I enjoy it when I have the time. Built cedar chests for all 5 grandchildren.

Like helping people who are trying to help themselves.

Backhoe, before my dad retired, he really started doing some woodworking "projects." Actually, he always did something w/ wood, including building guns. But later, cedar chests for the older granddaughters; rocking ponies for the babies; wine racks. I envy the g-daughters that got a cedar chest because I never had one; but glad my g-babies got rocking horses. About 6 yrs. after his retirement, he was pretty much blind to work w/ equipment. He misses being able to do that. Fortunately, he works with groups that can use his smarts despite that issue, and keeps pretty busy.
