Haven't used any of these personally, but they are some I've done some research on if I ever wanted to use some horned genetics in my polled cows. I've seen some 8020 progeny and like them pretty well. Maybe not what you are looking for, but some to consider.

OXH Mark Domino 8020 (P18950672)
OXH Domino 7002 (P18908730)
OXH Mark Domino 0125 (42075700)
CL1 Domino 1046 (P18110145)
CL 1 Domino 9126J 1ET (41113279)
HH ADVANCE 767G 1ET (40007386)

If you want to add muscle I like CS Pure Gold his progeny excelled in the show world

shutskytj...I was looking at C GOLD RUSH 1 ET for muscle...he is a big bull...do you like him?

El_Putzo...I will research a little on them and see what I think about them :) ...thanks

Caustic...do you have any favorites from Reed Enterprises?...thanks

tom4018...yes :)

Thank you all for the help :D

Have a good day

Depends on what you call outstanding. I have seen several very good calves, yearlings, cows out of 8020, 1046, 767G, 9126. I have some issues with the Pure Golds particularly consistency. What are you looking for? Frame, Milk, performance, carcass?

I'm looking for mostly frame and carcass...and I dont really like polled herefords

That being said, I would look pretty hard at 8020, H5 9012y advance 501, HH Advance 216M, anything with Pacesetter would add frame and muscle. I have some older semen on a big framed bull that added performance and muscle. PM me if you might be interested.

I used HH Advance 216M semen the year before last and I did get some great cows from him

About H5 9012y advance 501...I have researched him before and he just wasn't my type of bull

Thanks very much for the advice though :)

Have a good day capt

CL 1 DOMINO 386 , might be the kind of bull your looking for.

I am trying the 8020, and 0125 bull this year. Along with a few others. JHH

Heritage, I'm new to AI and I'm lining up bulls I would like to AI to my Polled Hereford cows next year. What is it about 69G you like? Just looking for info not an argument.

I've seen a number of Pure Gold offspring, they took almost everything at Reno 2 years ago. Although I have heard from a couple of people that used him, his calves push the 100lb mark. I don't know if this is a fact or not.

Thanks,
Alan

CL 1 Domino 9126J 1ET (41113279) Does anyone know where I can get semen for this bull? I really like what I see but the semen seems hard to come buy other than straight from Cooper. Also what kind of price they get per straw and cert.

Thanks,
Alan

Well Alan PDHR 9322 DOMINO 69G has a lot of top EPD's...BW- +7.4, WW- +85, YW- +140, Milk- +23....He's a pretty balanced bull...his calves are known to have a lot of thickness...which is what I am looking for...I need a bull with good frame...I believe 69G would be a good balance for the 216 cows...im not too sure about Pure Gold's calves pushing 100 pounds...for some cows that would be a concern for calfing difficulties...I like large framed cattle but I do not want calves so big we will have to do a C-section on every cow

By the way...about CL 1 Domino 9126J 1ET...are you wanting a horned bull?...I realized you said polled hereford cows...well CL 1 Domino 9126J 1ET is a very good bull...I also have a few cows from him...they are very good udders...they have had some nice looking offspring too...but you should also check out C 212 Domino 4011 ET...he also has good EPD's all around...if you want performance i'd really check him out if I were you...I believe semen fromm is about 35/straw...65/certificate

Well about how you said "Just looking for info not an argument."
...we wont start an argument :) ...just friendly discussions...and if I ever do start an argument...just say "aw shut up old man" and ill stop

well I hope you get some useful advice from all my ramblings :cboy:

Have a good day Alan

Here is the AHA link to the 69G bull, the MM is what's throwing me along with the high BW. The AHA has the MM epd at 7 not 23. To me the BW seems high for that low of MM.

The Puregold BW is just what I have been told, I don't know for sure, but I do like the calves I have seen.

I really like the 4011 ET bull, good numbers and looks good, thanks for the tip.

Alan

Alan, I would agree with you about the 9126 cattle. I believe his semen is limited and in my mind the next best bet is to use his sire. Have you used or know anyone who has used the 4011 bull? He is intriguing to me with the way he is made. I also remember the sire of the 69G bull. A very impressive long bodied, stout bull. 69G's current BWEPD is a concern, now listed at +8.4. Gets hard to convince people to use a bull like that irregardless if they are made right for calving ease or not. I suppose a question not a criticism is on my mind. If a cow can't deliver a 100 lb calf she needs her head cut off. I don't breed for 100 lb plus calves but I do strive to make sure they are built right structurally to facilitate ease of calving. Would be interested in hearing all of your thoughts on this.

Thanks
