Will you be keeping any to breed?
Yes, most of them. Now have 17 heifers, four should be sold in a month and almost all will be kept for breeding.
For culling: bigger yellow polled, yellow with bigger horns, bigger red polled (Limo red), two red horned. Most other are certainly for breeding, 2-3 are still questionable.

Limi, Char, Herf, Angus, SH ?
All heifers are sired by the same Limousine bull, except black polled heifer, which is sired by our Angusx bull.
Dams: BBxdairy, Herefordxdairy, Limox, Charx, LimoxCharx, some have Angus, abit Salers,BB.

Your animals have some of the nicest rumps/butts on them.

How is the heifer that was yours that you were hoping to keep after she had the injury to her leg?
Thank you.
She's in the last photo. Doing really fine. Couldn't tell that she has something not normal with her rear leg. She walks fine, runs just like other heifers and she is very friendly.

Recent photos. Finally heifers went on fresh second grass. Should boost their growth abit.

Daughter of the cow which has calved at 15months age. Should make a great cow. Her full sister has calved this spring and has a very nice udder.

Heifer out of Herefordxdairy cow. The last her daughter, so probably will keep. Have only two daughters from that cow.

Two on the left are for culling.

Younger-smaller heifers group: personally I think it looks better than elder heifers'.

Showing off.

Finally have weighed all heifers this weekend. One girl is already big enough for a bull so went to the cows herd.

1200lbs.

We already knew that our one bull's calves grow slower than we'd like. It's very obvious now, when we've one accidental heifer from half sister-brother breeding. Her dam was 75%Angus, 12.5%Salers, 12.5%dairy 1st calver. Sire was 1/2Angus, 25%Limousine, 12.5%Charolais, 12.5%dairy homebred young bull. Heifer herself looks just like Angus, very friendly personality and easily putting fat on. Weighed her at 15months and 1day age- 1050lbs. She has beaten all other heifers with growth.

14mo LimoxCharx heifer, 911lbs.

17mo, 7/8Limousine, 1090lbs.

17mo,950lbs. I really like this one, but will need to cull her. She has very nice body, but bad personality. When we closed her in the steel pen, she was very unhappy, walked around and tried to lift every part of the pen and it was quite a challenge to keep her still for a couple moments on the scales. No interest in people too.

I like to grill bitches with bad personality. :cowboy:
LOL
They all goes to the factory here. There was a time when we had a small selection of heifers and a small number of cows, so have left some with not the best character. They all became fine cows, but now better to leave others, than giving the bad ones the second chance.

Finally we have some better weather this fall. All cattle are preparing for winter. Heifers are turning into chubby bears. :)

This heifer is for culling too.

The yellow heifer which was for culling was slaughtered in October. 58% kill-out. Black however stayed.
The yellow heifer in 4th photo unfortunately got sick and not much of hope that she'll get better.
From other 7- 5 were already AI'd. Two yesterday, one today. All, except one, AI'd with Red Angus bull. Hopefully all will stick and we'll have some red calves next autumn. Two which left might get another bull.
