Hey ERNIBIGB, I noticed you listed a Drum mower. I've kinda been thinking about one of those. I don't know anyone around that has one so I can't get any opinions. Do you like it?

hi all i have the following gear.
- Vermeer 504 I baler really happy with it easy to use, easy to work on the manuals are very good and the H.P. requirements are low.
- Lely splendimo shaft drive mower
-tonutti carted hayrake
-tractors international 585 XL with cabin, fwa and loader for cutting and baling and an antonio carraro for raking. 585 is right on its limits pulling the baler up some of the steep padocks

Haven;t moved them yet, but they are really tight. That Vicon is a windrow devouring SOB. I couldn;t get over how easy it sucked the stuff up even compared to a JD 435.

well let me know how heavy they are when you move them.yes they suck up any size windrow.an they feed the hay to ble chamber pretty fast.

If you want a dependable mower that will last for many years the Reese will be hard to beat, One of ours has been run enough to completely wear out two disc mowers of any brand and is still going strong and with only a few minor repairs. The only parts that have worn are the skid shoe and the belts have been replaced once and are due again. The big drawback to ours is no hyd. fold, have to pull a pin and either fold it manually or move the tractor to make it fold behind the tractor. My 82 year old dad has used this thing instead of a bushhog for years besides cutting close to 1000 rolls of hay each year and at 82 he just drives and doesn't look back very often so he has been pretty rough on it. I think he ran it all day just yesterday clipping pasture with the skid and outer wheel holding it up about 6-8 inches. Dealers may be hard to find. I think dealers don't like them because they can't sell many parts :lol2:
