Hay in hay ring

Help Support CattleToday:

Thanks everyone I was just wondering how ya'll do it.
I put them on end and then move the ring over about 40ft or so when I put in a new bale.
The eat down to just a little below the metal skirt at the bottom. When I set up the new bale I take the hay fork and spread what's left of the old bale. They will go back to the old bale and clean it up better.
Really there's hardly any waste.

About 7 or 8 years ago while serving on the board of the Mississippi Beef Agribition we purchased a semi-trailer load of panels and bow gates from Allen Brothers in AR. They were and are a real value. Likely can be damaged if you run a tractor thru it. I wouldn't not be afraid to try anything they have. Don't know about prices, then they were less expensive than mainlines but products appeared just as tuff.
