Hats

When did it become appropriate for men to leave their hats on when indoors, especially in a restaurant? I'm old school I guess, and was taught to almost always remove my hat indoors.
Just wondering.....

I'm about as old school as they get. I never take my hat off, unless I'm going to bed. I'll take it off, when introduced to a lady.

I wear mine everywhere. I was never taught to take it off inside. Both papaws wore theirs inside. Dad don't wear a hat. Ilol wear wear it in the church until services start. I'd wear it during services if it wasn't a distraction to the other people.

Hats are never to be worn indoors and especially not at the dinner/supper/lunch/breakfast table.

I always wear my hat outdoors and in public, but mostly is because it doubles as a comb.

Hayseed lives DO matter TT. It's just according to whether I'm standing up or sitting down.

I hardly ever take mine off. Generally once a day when I got to sleep, if I remember. 30 Years in the Navy will get you so used to wearing it that you either feel nekid without it or you don;t even know when you have it on.

Just old school rules of etiquette. Some are still around, like hand shakes, most are not.
Its kinda shame that the hat thing has become bygone.
