lol am I all alone in here with a group of MOPAR boys? Where is all my FORD boys to back me up ?

Look behind you...they're pushing your truck. Heard a joke yesterday "Ford has new heated tailgates so your hands don't get cold pushing them". :hide:

I am a Ford boy but in all fairness you did sorta hit him from the blindside earlier which is why I had to throw the flag.

"Enough power" is a really subjective thing. I went with some friends on about a 3 hour (one way) trip to swap out a bull on Sunday. They were driving a brand new Hemi, having traded a year or two old Dodge diesel that was having more than it's share of issues. They weren't very happy with how it pulled, but I'm sure that was compared to the diesel. We were pulling a 24' aluminum trailer with one maybe 1800# bull, and running 75+ in decent sized hill's - just had to keep it wound up. I don't really think that's all bad, prob'ly because I used to pull a 24' steel trailer, loaded heavy, all over (including to Kansas City and Denver) with an '80 model Chevy 3/4 ton 4x4 with a 350 and a 4 speed standard - we're talking 0-60 mph measured in minutes, not seconds. Maybe 40 mph pulling a long hill on the interstate. Even most half tons these days will outpull that considerably. Any later model 3/4 ton pickup should be capable of pulling a 20 - 24' stock trailer, but as someone mentioned earlier, you just can't be in too big a hurry. I drive a diesel myself, and I'm a firm believer that if you pull heavy and pull often, it's the way to go. But nothing wears me out faster than people that insist that everyone that ever pulls anything needs a diesel.

Sky, I'm a Ford guy, too. But since I drive a 6.0 diesel, I'm an outcast even with lot's of other Ford diehards...

I got a neighbor right now that's about to trade a f150 for a diesel to pull a camper 3 or 4 times a year no more than 200 miles because his sil told him his truck wouldn't pull it. I looked at gross wgt and its around 8 k. I traded a diesel in 04 for a gas burner because I only pull ever so often ans just drive 99.8% of the time.
he needs a sign.

DLD, there's nothing wrong with the 6.0, If you spend 2k on fixing the engine up like it should of been done in the first place.

highgrit, I put 160K on my 05 6.0 with hardly any problems. Around 95K the high pressure oil pump got new O-rings, and they said they went ahead and replaced the EGR valve "while they were in there" - all under warranty. That was it - when I sold it had the original injectors, glow plugs, turbo... and ran great. I'm driving an 06 now that I bought with 50K on it, it's now at 80K and needs 3 injectors - if I keep the oil and all the filters fresh and run diesel kleen every other tank, it still runs good. I'm waiting 'til I gather enough money for a full set of injectors (should be in the next month or so). I know what you mean by the $2K it needs spent on it. Since the last one got by without it, I was hoping this one would too, but I still figure that'll be a lot cheaper than trading trucks.

Sorry TheFutureFarmer, don't mean to highjack your thread. I absolutely understand where you're coming from - stick with it.
