Word of advice when you let the cow out get your head out of the way. Steer pushing hard on head gate today, we got done. Released him handle flys up hits me chin. Knocked me completely out, 7 stiches to patch hole up. Thankfully only had 2 left to preg check wife finished up.

Ours will do that. Manual gate, 30T I think is the model number. Best headgate I've ever used, but we have a couple bulls that can't suck it in enough to go thru. We have to back them up and let them out of the side, chute is the 450 model.
 
Oh my gosh, that's awful! Hope you're feeling better. My husband is pretty tall & hits his head on the Priefert quite often (because it didn't hurt enough the last time?) and one time I hit the side release, it swung open so fast it took him out, solid butt-plant. Oops!

Did she preg check them before or after she took you to get stitched up?
 
Our local vet helps us work cattle when he can. I've told him a few times to watch the handle on the old WW chute. Well he went to let a cow out and she lunged ahead. The handle knocked ole Bob down and bruised him good.

Did she preg check them before or after she took you to get stitched up?

Before we were not stopping with 2 left. Tried to get her to sew me up she wouldn't, or just use super glue. Working another herd Thursday, and keeping my head out of the way!
