ford 551 round baler

i seen an ad in the market basket for ford 551 round baler.. any one know any thing about these? what size bale? how big tractor needed? good and the bad..... they have 2 for 3,500... prob one is for parts but not sure havent called.. thanks rose

Rose, unless you are very good at repairs, be very leary of anything that needs a spare for parts. I also understand that they are pretty bad at clogging up.

thanks. theres nothing worse that having that hay wind rowed..3 rows baled and then.. your shut down... been there done that..and proubly gonna do it again...( aint that in a song?) i didnt think they were referring to haying though.. LOL been looking for a vermeer.. proubly gonna stay on that trail then thanks
