I think I’m pretty sheltered too apparently.
We filled up the truck at Buc-ees a while back for the first time, didn’t go in though. Gettin back on the road was an adventure. There were two round abouts.
I can’t understand who in the world thinks a round a bout is a good idea in KY. Folks have enough trouble navigating 4way stops.
They put in a Costco about 20 some miles from us a few years years ago, still have yet to go there either.

Whataburger is good but the problem is that after I eat a full run of their stuff I usually end up feeling like setting up in the shade and taking a little siesta rather than getting anything done, an effect that sometimes lasts up to an hour after the fact.

I hear you. I don't eat much from now until fall, at least at dinner time.

Wife and I just set a couple corners and pounded posts today in high humidity low 80's on a short run. Warmest day of the year so far, showed me I'm a pansy. Not very many years ago I was doing double that in 90-100 degrees. I miss the days when I was bulletproof.

Off to Texas Roadhouse for Mothers Day here shortly, I'll make up for that missed meal in a couple hours.

I'm still in my bulletproof zone, I'm just all or none. Either I'm busting my azz working or I'm full tilt into cooling my heels. I don't like trying to split the difference.

I picked up a cake and a pie for Mother's Day at Yoder's just yesterday. To be honest their dessert has not been quite as good since Mrs. Yoder stopped making them. Mr. Yoder used to mix the best sausage around. They took orders months in advance of Christmas and he only ground a limited amount.

I am not sure if they still doing the sausage since he passed.
 
Just saw where Buc-ees is planning a second location in KY. Off of I-65 in Smith’s Grove which is close to Bowling Green KY.
That will be directly on our route when we go to OK.
There used to be and maybe it’s still there in Smith’s Grove, a stockyards where they had a big dairy auction. Used to send a few Holstein heifers down there when the dairy I bought them from didn’t need to buy them back. Bought a yearling Jersey heifer there once.

Only Dairy auction listed in KY now is Mammoth Cave. Is that the same thing
 
The Richmond Buc-ees is about 24 miles east of here and my wife and I took a daughter and son-in-law there as a destination Saturday night a while back. We drove around with jaws dropped and couldn't stop smiling when we went in.
I know you would get used to it but we do not get out much and were quite thrilled by the experience.
