I switched to Firefox. Using Chrome, the Wal-Mart advertisements took over in less than a minute. It was taking me off the website in less than 20 seconds. Firefox is not as clear or as fast but it is not infected with the pop up.

Firefox is ok. Brave is the up and coming browser. Seems to block more malware.

I used firefox for a long time, but it kept reloading some pages (facebook for one) and pizzed me off
I use Chrome now and have uBlock which works very effectively.

Ads got a lot worse after Google bought doubleclick.
It's usually one of the programs that you will see load every time you come to CT and sometimes even change pages within CT.
I use an ad blocker that comes with my AV.

bad thing its become so memory intensive the last few years.

Like most browsers, they get sooo many "features" they eventually get bloated and slow.

A really lightweight browser for "memory challenged" PC's is QTweb.. doesn't load all sites, but it's installed size is only 6mb, as opposed to hundreds of Mb for FF or Chrome
