Our mexican vultures have no problem opening up a pig, its their favorite meat next to preborn calf foot pads, tongue and eyes... My son saw a herd of them jump a 5 strand fence like deer. We've also shot them from our front porch. There is a big pig game ranch north of us owned by Wilson Combat, they use 6.8s also. My husbands gun is very accurate, he's dropped every one he's shot at. Sometimes its hard to get up to them if you come across accidentally(which is how i always come up on them). If you have the wind at your back you have to get a shot off before they smell you.
I found a picture of the one i raised. Her name was Noel and lived into her teens. She was very smart and got a lot bigger. I think this is when she was around 10 months old.. She went to Austin and lived with my sister in law and her goats. She became a great friend to the goats and protected them. She was one spoiled pig.
