Would love to try the pipe posts. But can't find them here in VA. I've seen a handful used here though. What do you use to connect the wire to the pipe?

Very few folks let hedge lay around for years then try to drive staples in them. Set the post and driving staples in the first year is no different then any other tree.

Gotcha I've been driving staples in to replace ones that came loose or when tightening existing fence. That's where it's annoying in the fence fixing context but you aren't replacing very many staples at a time. Good to know new they ain't like that!
