We are scraping up drought feed, and found some year old soybean stalk bales. I know it is poor feed. What kind of utilization should one expect if they are fed as a bale ? Any feeding tips ?

in my experience, cattle will eat about half, similar to feeding corn stalks. However, I baled bean stubble for a dairy once that was short on straw. When I asked later how those bean bales worked for bedding, they said didn't. After letting the shock sink in, told me the cattle were eating most of the stubble.
