B bigbull338 Well-known member Joined Apr 28, 2005 Messages 16,565 City & State/Province texas Mar 17, 2009 #3 yes you can feed alalfa to beef cattle.you want to feed 10lbs a hd a day.theres 2 types of alalfa hay.1 is dairy quality.it is very high quality hay with protine of 18% 21%.beef cow or feeder hay has protine of 14 to 16% protine.
