I am fed up with the cost of.... GAS, DIESEL, METAL, FEED, IMPLEMENTS,TRACTORS,PARTS OF EVERYKIND,FERTILIZERS,SUPPLIMENT, MINERALS, CORN, BEANS, MEDICINES, LAND , AND ANYTHING ELSE THAT WOULD EVER HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH BEEF PRODUCTION.

Everything but CALF prices have went up and it is really starting to PI$$ me off.
I kept a pot load of heifers back this week I've got the room and I dont see why I should just get royally cheated which would just get me even more PI$$ED OFF!

SORRY......... JUST VENTING

Ain't it the truth..........

And you left out being fed up with copper theives.

We need to bring some of those ole' boys from Singapore over here to teach the art of caining to our justice system.

Just what can you or any one person do about it? I ask this at the bull s--- table the other day the answer vote. You get a decent person in office you think, they turn out to be a thief or too lazy to do the job. I have come to the conclusion any time there is tax payers money there is fraud, lazy and incompetent people handling it.

My sentiments exactly. Seems they can dole out our tax dollars with a teaspoon faster than we can throw it to them with a snow shovel. It gripes me each time some local politician brags about getting some federal grant money for some BS pet project like planting trees in the ROW. Then they got to hire some crony to do this work. The crony doesn't know how to work a shovel so they got to hire three people to dig a hole. Then the dim wits plant the trees under powerlines and then the "free" $5000 the politician got "for us" ends up costing us $35000 in labor. Not to mention the idiots planted the trees under powerlines and were later cut down. This is just the tip of the problem as my community is very low on the food chain.

People say you should vote to make a change. I will, but PLEASE GIVE ME SOMETHING WORTH VOTING FOR.

It is sad that in today's society, you have to vote for what or who you think will do the least damage.

the sadd thing is we maybe heading for/or in a bad depression.but you know we are lucky to some extent we have our families land an cattle.an we can raise our own beef.an put in a garden if we want 1.its the people that to drive everyday.gas may get so high that they can no longer afford to work.an have to quit their jubs.then add to it the high food prices.

I agree costs are going up and the sale barn is static at best. I assume this is cyclical. I remember a couple of years ago how the board was saying to enjoy the good times. I heard this recently:
"The cattle market is flush and fill. Right now the handle has been pulled and the water is circling. The bowl never goes completely empty before it starts to refill. The trick is to be part of the clear water left when the fill cycle starts. All of the truds are gone and you can be part of the profitable fill cycle. Keep an eye out for the next flush."

I bought diesel yesterday at an all time high for me, $4.35 a gallon..... ouch. The first time in a long time I didn't just fill it up, thought about carry the extra weight of the full tank around. One problem with the vote is the really qualified good people that may do some good won't run because of all the rumors and mud slinging the other side does. To me it didn't seem to be that way many years ago, I think the era of 24/7 news channels can be thanked..... any news is news they just twist it enough to make it news.

I'm trying to improve my pasture, to increase the number of cattle I can run. I priced a 400 lb spreader, $695  , triple 16 fertilizer $75 per acre  . I can't see using up 4 or 5 calves to offset the price. While Bio diesel and ethonal are great for the corn farmers, it's killing everyone else.

You hit that one top dead center.

They craftly argue things out of both sides of their mouth. They don't have to be opinionated, they just find someone who shares their opinion and air a brief interview with them. Just enough of the snippet to give their view. Then they find some poor fool to make an idiot out of who argues it the other way.

They have the power and we let them have it.

I'll second that!

Even the corn producers, [those with a brain] got to realize corn is best used for human food.
And Yeah! I raise corn. Ethanol from corn will kill itself. Unless those politicians y'all are taking about throw more taxpayer money into it.

I've been thinking about all of this all week. I also think it is just the beginning, and there are a lot of folks out there that are going to be in serious trouble this year.

But ranch sales are still high, and we still have a lot of buyers in the market. But these aren't producers.. they are weekenders and people that don't trust the stock market and want to "invest". So what's going to happen to the farmers and ranchers that have to support themselves and a family? I think it's scary....

Just the other day Mom and I were reading an article talking about how all the ranch land in Alberta is turing into acreages, what a shame it is and that ranchers shouldn't be allowed to sell it like that. I I think I am going to write him a short letter:
"It's real simple pay us more and none of us will have to sell."

What ticks me off is that so many of the economic issues are being caused by the whole global warming/environmentalist doomsayers. Sure, brilliant plan let's bankrupt people for something that may or may not happen.

Fertilizer is going a $1000 a ton.
Top off our gas tank yesterday and cost us over $2000.
Yes we are all fed up with it and the only way it can be fixed is to get all those bums out of office. Told that to a girl I know and her response was ,"Who will know how to run the country, we need them." She sure didn't like it when I told her we have a Constitution and it is suppose to work.

We are Country folk and WE WILL SURVIVE.

I have to agree. There are two groups of "bums" though.
1) our bums who are strictly against domestic oil exploration and refinery construction on old military posts
2) the OPEC bums who refuse to increase production

I only wish.

The problem is common sense country folks get out voted by city folks, they don't have any clue what it takes to feed them. Mostly they don't care because they think the goverment should take care of them. When they can't fill up with gas they will scream for more welfare and get it. Mostly we keep electing career politicans to run the country

Red Bull hit it. This country wasn't set up to have politics a permanent job. These people were suppode to return to their communities where they would have to answer for what they had supported. Today there is no such thing as accountability in America. Wish someone could figure out how to correct it. Just my opinion, FED UP AS WELL.
