I know that members up in the northern tiers are used to chillier weather even in summer... BUT... we were down to 49 last night... It was chilly yesterday and even more so this morning... NO humidity so clear and "crisp"... Sun was out and light breeze and a NICE 77 during the day... and then we are supposed to go back up into the low 90's for the weekend...

Just was not expecting it to be so "cool" out there already..

Also, can someone help me find that picture with the statement about the cows names on the container of yogurt ( or milk maybe).... and the post how it was misogynistic for all the names listed to be female.... I went back through the daily chuckle and a couple other threads and cannot find it... I know some of you have better memories than I do . Want to show it to a friend of mine...

It had cooled off significantly in NE TX when I walked out of the motel and...it rained some. I left Lamar county around 1pm heading home with outside temp in the upper 80s but by the time I got into Killeen it was 109f outside. It didn't take me long to shed some clothes and get in the pool. Drove 1/3 of the way across Texas non stop except for a traffic jam on I35 at Waco.

I'll have to make that trip again in a few 'whatevers' when my wife gets her family matters under control. Left her there. I can't handle that in-law crap very well. Them siblings of hers are dumber than a box of hammers

I've been thinking the same thing. Same weather here but by the weekend we are expecting 90's and humid. BUT I have noticed the calves are starting on their winter coats already and the swallows are starting to congregate. It's got me concerned about the winter ahead.

It is currently 80F with a projected high today of 106F, which is cooler than yesterday's high of 110F. My neighbor here said his fancy high $$ personal weather station showed yesterday's high to be 112F. That would beat the record high temp here by 2-3 degrees. This should be the last excessively hot day for a while, as high temps are forecast to be in the upper 90s with even chance of rain thru at least Sept 5.
No complaints here!

It was 46 degrees here yesterday morning, 45 this morning and sopping dew on the windshield of the truck. We had about 2 inches of rain a couple of weeks ago, and an inch or so a few days ago, yet it remains dry down deep in the soil. Not much fall hay unless the rains increase, pastures are barely keeping up but look better than three weeks ago.
This breath of fall is welcome but the heat is said to be returning by the weekend.

See if this works:

Post in thread 'Pot belly updated pics' https://www.cattletoday.com/threads/pot-belly-updated-pics.133308/post-1863443

Edit: close enough, takes you to the post anyway. I just googled it to find the picture the first time.

Hotter than hades here…and dry. Come on September…and bring some rain…could get a decent second cutting of hay if we could get some rain. Weather.com shows a 39% chance tomorrow but so far, it looks like I'll be in the 61% chance that it won't happen…we'll see…lows over the next 10 days in the 70's with highs in the 90's…better than this time last year for temps but about the same on rain…chances supposed to improve come September

Not a problem with the heat as I can stand, but the high humidity I can't. It's been low humidity the last few days here, but next week it comes back. It still beats mid-winter.

We "normally" max out with about 6 days in the 90's. Nothing "normal" about this whole year. Our ground never froze more than 1" ("normally" 2 feet). We've had about 2 1/2 weeks of 90F - and yes about 90% humidity (that's one thing that was normal).
We also had low 40's 2 mornings, no humidity. Low 70's during the day. Froze when the sun went away (showers in between sunshine). Comfy with sunshine. Don't know how to dress.
