Jogeephus or i mean Dad !
$860,000 in back child support !   Dad i have been meaning to talk to you about this little matter of back child support for some time now ! And the way i see it mom is being just down right unreasonible. So if you would like me to send you my address so that you can just make a check out for say $100,000 directly to me. We can just cut mom and her lawyers out of all of this nonsense of $860,000 back child support !
So what do you say pops ! You need a mailing address to send that measly little old $ 100 k to ?
Heck, Stepper, if I made that much money I'd adopt myself as well. ;-) I can tell I need to elaborate some before people start thinking I'm a real rancher or something. So to get it all in context, its going to take a bit of explaining. So get a glass a tea and sit back but you might want to cover your computer with some plastic so when you bust out laughing you don't get tea all over it.
First of all, my ex dumped me for a lawyer. She thought she wanted the country life but it just didn't suit her. Just not enough gold and glamour and "I didn't wear a tie." Anyhow, after our divorce, her beau the attorney wouldn't divorce his wife and leave his kids or drop his other girlfriend so she came running back to me. (I ran the other way) Well, she got obsessed and constantly harassed me and used my boy as blackmail to get what she wanted. I moved on. A few years later I met an angel and I married her. X was extremely upset, especially since my boy adored my new bride.
Each anniversary, each birthday my X would take me back to court and each time I had to pay her more money. This went on for some years but it didn't bother me cause every time she took something from me, the Lord would bless me with just that much more.(not necessarily money mind you)
Anyhow, on one of my birthday's a friend gave me a CD by a comedian named Thomas Mabe. He is hilarious and his forte is messing with telemarketers. (A profession I loathe) As luck would have it a telemarketer from Dunn and Bradstreet called me the very same week I got the CD and it was still playing whenever I got in the truck. Dunn and Bradstreet asked a bunch of what I considered personal questions about my finances. (How was I even to know who these folks were with id theft and all) As I talked to them I could also hear Mr. Mabe saying, "don't hang up on them; toy with them; if you hang up on them they are just going to call my house; find out what their dog-s name is; USE UP THEIR DIME!". Which I'm proud to say I did.
Anyhow, they said their records showed I made $150,000 per year.  I asked where they got this figure from and they said they got it from the computer. Then they asked, "is this incorrect?" I replied, "No, with the booming economy I'll easily make $240,000 this year". (Yep, that was a lie. But who are these people that will call you and ask you this type stuff on the telephone?)
Anyhow, a few weeks later I'm served papers demanding all my financial statements from every business I own, how many cows and a list of all assets and deeds to all properties, etc etc. I informed my attorney of the problem and she contacted the X's attorney and then got back to me. My attorney said, "somehow they have the idea you are making $240,000 a year". I rolled on the floor laughing cause that nice round number came to mind and I told my attorney about Thomas Mabe and Dunn and Bradstreet and we both had a good laugh.
Anyhow, appararantly greed IS blind and we walked into court and flabergasted the judge and the plaintiff at how poor I really am and how greedy and selfish the X really was.
I walked out of the courtroom with full custody of my boy and the X having to pay me child support. ;-)
Anyhow, it was a little more complicated than this but that's about as plain as I can put it but wish I could say, "Stepper, here's the keys to a brand new truck!, just come see Uncle Joe if you need some walking around money".  But I can't do it. But I assure you, the look on the X's face was purely priceless and I wouldn't take any amount of money for the memory of it.
