TSC has ear tags with slow-release insecticides in them, like permethrin, pyrethroids, even diazinon. Do those really have any effect, or is it just a marketing gimmick?

TSC has ear tags with slow-release insecticides in them, like permethrin, pyrethroids, even diazinon. Do those really have any effect, or is it just a marketing gimmick?

They do help some with fly control, but they aren;t a silver bullet. They're just one more possible piece in combating flys. Too many people put them on then leave them on far too long so that they lose their potency and contribute to resistance by the external parasites.
