That's one of those questions like "How high is up?". There are too many variable for a pat answer. What kind of hay, moisture content when hay was cut, soil moisture, humidity, wind, sunny or cloudy?

Depending on how thick it is and the ground moisture yo ucan probably rake it and bale it either late the same day it's cut if it's cut early in the day or the next morning as soon as the dew is off.
We cut one field this year that we should have had the rake following the mower and the baler following the rake, and that was without a conditioner.

Thanks Dun, we been waiting to long and that makes it hard to bale. It slips in the baler if you know what I mean.

It's hard to really tell unless you have perfected the twist test. I haven't but the neighbor has. He twists the a hank of hay in his hands and can tell if it's too wet or too dry. If he says it will be readey to bale in 5 hours you can pretty well take it to the bank tha it had better be raked and ready to bale in 5 hours.
