Drover article on scours

What are some opnions if you have read the article on Scour proofing you herd. I think it was called the Sandhill Calving meathod.
Sound like it is a lot of trouble for those that don't have problems. And a good way to get rid of them if you do.

Read it, we've done about the same thing, but since we've never had a scour problem (knock on wood, my head will do) we don't bother anymore.
