I used to do the same thing. Had to learn a simple 2 letter word. NO.There's nothing wrong with helping Family now and then, but when they abuse you into indentured servitude, it's time to throw the brakes on hard.

Sounds like the wife just gave you the go ahead to tell the inlaw to stuff it and do it himself in his own garage.

I'm told by my in-laws that I'm not a likeable person. Fine by me. Keeps me from haveing to put up with them very often. ;-)

Some years back I came to the conclusion that I didn't even HAVE TO GO over for Thanksgiving dinner. Haven't been back since except when my wife is involved in some way and needs me to help her. It had been so long that this past Christmas I went over to carry in a TV set, her mother did not even recognize me.

Freedom is a wonderful thing. :clap:

I like helping my family. Of course they return the favor without cohersion and its always a team effort.

was cleaning up after my nephew's wedding reception this weekend - until my brother started in about the way I was carrying a box
I set the box down - went and got in my car and turned on the a/c and waited until they were done loading the cars (including mine)
if he feels the need to tell me how to correctly carry a box then he can carry his own box!

(I had traveled over 400 miles / was there 3 days early to help / it was over 100 degrees / etc.) :roll: :roll: :roll:

ps - they unloaded the cars too :)
