. . . . I hear you've got some fire activity that's probably not too far from you. Are you okay? Kathie

I am OK. The fire is about 4 miles east of me and headed away from me. I have a friend who has a sawdust, shaving, beauty bark business over by I-5 that I hear is a total loss. Several other friends who live over there but no word on them. The only official I have heard about houses is the Brewer house which dates back to early Oregon trail days. It is on the National list of historical sites. It is a total loss.

They got it under control. 400 acres, 4 houses, 2 barns, and 1 business.

what I've learned from around here is that "under control" is a relative term... until they've put out all the hot spots it's not OUT.
