We purchased about 7 yearling heifers from sale barn ( big mistake) put them on small pasture for about 3 weeks and no problem .moved to a big pasture and they all got sick. yellow mucous in eyes,runing noses and blistered,scaling,loss of appitite. We have had no loss.checked temps on all cattle quanitined with 1 or 2 with 103.Gave la 200 for three days ,temp came down on the 2 head. I have a 2 year old brangus that was off by itself with no appitite and eyes and nose clear so we put her in a seperate pen and she has same symtoms as the sale barn heifers.have been treating with LA 200 for three days, temp is normal but she doesn't eat much. stool on this cow was black tar like and is now brown. Does this sound like IBR?

Antibiotics aren't going to do a thing for IBR - it's a virus. Might help against secondary bacterial infections, but it won't help IBR. Might give your vet a call. I'm not even sure that you're looking at the symptoms of IBR.

agree with MM. and talk to your vet. What ever antibiotic you get, make sure to get a non steriod anti inflam. It will help alot and provide relief for the animal.
I hope you do not have pregnant non vaccinated cows on your farm. And i hope they were vaccinated with ML FP vaccines. These vaccines offer fetal protection against such diseases, saving you on the bottom line.
Quarantine includes water troughs, feed troughs and wash the mud off your boots when done. As well if you are walking amongst your cattle, make sure the health animals see clean coverals on you. Last thing you need is a cross contamination and having an abortion storm.
Always go to the sick pen last
