Is it possible for a cow to calve on Dec 5th and cycle on Dec 22nd?
My bull was with her all day on the 22nd and I believe bred her overnight.

I have a heifer that has been cycling in the range of 17 to 19 days. I noticed that as the weather got cold, it extended her cycle. I am not sure if their cycles are affected by temperature or not.

It's pretty much the equivilent of a foaling heat in horses. Some will settle on that heat, some won;t, some will have that early heat, some won;t. Sort of depends on the individual cow

Now as to not having a clue to where you are from, year around calving or out of season might not be the thing for you.
A calving season is not near as important here as other regions.

Here with our shorter mild winters most everyone does calf year around .

that would be quicker than usual , but it is possible, some cows are more prolific than others , some will have a calf per year and gain a month every year , in a year round calving situation

I learned the hard way that a purebred Brahman born in the freezing cold has little chance of survival.
