Those are interesting articles. As a matter of fact, I've saved them in my 'Grasses' folder. I said that I was 60 miles S/W of Austin, it was the beer. I'm actually s/E of Austin as txag pointed out in a PM. Thanks for that txag. See what happens when you drink beer, you lose sight of your direction. Thanks to novatech and texag for the articles and the PM's and everybody else that responded. I've noticed with the Jiggs that they virtually spread across the ground with runners covering bare spots fairly rapidly.
One question I have, again, is how tall should I let it get before cutting. I have only cut this once since I've owned this land (about 5 yrs ago) and I got 42 4x5 round bales. This is after I first bought the land and no severe drought like we had right after I DID cut. I guess I should tell you what kind of weeds I'm fighting.
One is Senna Bean (spreads fast). Two, is Dove Weed which is one weed that I've noticed does not come up all at once and to know when to spray herbicide is a guess. The third is, I don't know the real name of the weed, but it has yelow petals with a black center that grows about 2 ft. tall. The last weed I don't know when it makes the seeds for the next time I have to battle this, maybe someone can enlighten me on this. If you need pictures, I can take them and post.
Dadblameit, I hope I covered it all. I should have because I've never typed this much in my life. Any responses to this post goes without saying, that I appreciate each and everyone. I would tell you what my soil tests were, but I can't seem to find them right now. Believe me when I say that this board is the most informative to ANY person in this business, that you can't take away with you some information that you can use.
